01 Mar 2026 19:55My brothers and I did something similar to Clay. Cut the fork lowers off of 2 junk bicycles and hammered them into the forks of my bike. ( original tubes plus 2 extensions per side). Made for some strange steering for a few days. Until the lower tubes came free and it dug into the gravel driveway. Don't know how I ended up with my front teeth still intact after that one...
Luckily my friends dad welded our extended forks on our bikes together so we didn't lose our front teeth.

You were fortunate Kelly! I grew-up pretty paltry and the neighbor men were drinking Schlitz Beer all day so too dangerous to operate such equipment. We had a Culligan water softener company a block away, sourced all my supplies from crap they threw-out as trash. Built many a wooden go-karts out of the pallets they tossed, ha.
