@Wookie58, did you have a suggestion? I ask as I would like to see if there is anything I can do to get rid of the hesitation. I took it for a ride yesterday, first time ever. There were a couple of small issues, which were taken care of. However, the hesitation is irritating. Give it a little gas when letting the clutch out and it sort of stumbles and goes along. Once past about 2500 rpm, then it smooths out and runs like it should.

02 Oct 2026 07:03I only asked as zed1015's "air correctors" are designed to cure this stumble if using Pods. Are your "pilot plug" seals in good condition ?@Wookie58, did you have a suggestion? I believe I found the reason for the hesitation. I took the carbs off the bike again....sigh. The positive is that I can get them on and off pretty quickly now, including putting on the boots from the airbox to the barbs. Anyway, I decided to take a look at the pilot jets. I bought a rebuild kit for the carbs, don't ask what the brand was because I do not remember, but I do remember it was supposed to be a quality kit. Well, the main jets were the same size as the stock ones. However, the pilot jets that came in the kit were 32.5. Stock is 37.5. I ASSUMED they'd be the same. You know what happens when you assume
. I soaked the old stock ones in Pine Sol, yes I kept them, then used some carb cleaner and sprayed them out really well. Also used some wire strands to "chase" the small hole in the jets to ensure they were clear and cleaned. As a side note, years ago my wife purchased a magnifying lamp stand. I used it in my garage, often. If you don't have one, they were worth the investment!!!!! I put everything back together, but didn't have time to run it. That will be later today and I'll report back if this stopped the hesitation that I was experiencing.

You mean you don't have a dissecting microscope? I don't know what I'd do without mine. Never thought I'd be using it for motorcycles when I bought it, but it sure comes in handy for that too!

Re: Yep, I in need of help....again
14 Oct 2026 21:06I mean to be fair not many people are thinking of using laboratory grade equipment for motorcycles same as what you said, but yes, I have used them before and they are VERY nice to use. I believe the ones at our lab go to 35x and give a very clear image. Im not sure how cost effective those are over a magnifying glass...As a side note, years ago my wife purchased a magnifying lamp stand. I used it in my garage, often. If you don't have one, they were worth the investment!!!!!

I use these cheap dollar store eye loops...
This is a Amazon set for $8, the ones I bought year ago were $1 each.
I have them all over the house in 4X magnification, in the garage for inspecting jets/spark plugs, and in every bathroom for removing splinters etc.
The real spark plug units have a built in light, but they are $$
