Yep, I in need of help....again

From what I have been reading here and several other websites, BS34 carbs are used on a lot of different bikes.  I found this website, www.cruzinimage.net/2018/07/23/80-83-yam...on-rubber-diaphragm/ with these slides and carbs.  Again, several other posters have had good results with this company.  Since these are for a BS 34 carb, I'm guessing they will work with my bike.  Opinions?

While you are correct, 34's were used on MANY makes/models and displacements, the slide itself differed Tremendously between them. Might check-out JBM Industries! They sell the diaphragm, just the diaphragm and nothing more. You simply snap off your retaining ring and remove rubber. The replacements merely stretch over your original slides. Paying mind of indexing the lift hole in slide to intake (cylinder head) side upon assembly. I've used their diaphragms for years.  

I'm glad you mentioned them, as I looking at those.  As I was reading their website, they said measure the top of the carb, where the diaphragm sits.  Thinking all the BS34s were the same is bad, .  Turns out, my carbs have the same measurement as the BS34SS carbs, 70mm.  They will be ordered today.  Did you use any glue to hold the diaphragm to the slide?

I do but only after "tire" is installed. I pull back tire in just a couple spots (12oclock and 6oclock) and squirt just a drop or two of this stuff on slide channel. This is all that's required to keep the rubber from shifting. These type slides don't have slide channel and corresponding tab in casting slide bore, just a positioning tab on diaphragm rubber for correct installation. Note the little hole in bottom of slide, this hole as mentioned, faces towards engine during assembly. That little bit of superglue keeps everything in position. I use a gel type, slower setting time superglue. Better then the kwik setting type often found in hardware stores. Just my preference though.

Since the carbs are off the bike, again (for like the 3rd time), I got the new diaphragms installed.  I also disassembled them, again, and shot carb cleaner throughout and into all the small orifices.  They are reassembled and waiting for Nessim's choke plunger donuts.  Those are the last parts that I can think of that have not be changed out.  I am really hoping that these things together will get these carbs and bike running properly.  The only other thing I have to check is an oil leak.

When it was running, there was coming from the right side of the oil pan.  There was a slightly loose bolt, so of course I tightened it.  Still had the leak.  Laying on the floor, I saw there was oil coming from the second igniton cover.  I am going to take that apart, but I suspect the oil seal back there, may have failed, causing the leak.   I highly doubt the oil pan gasket is the culprit.  We shall see.

I installed Ness' choke plunger donuts and new diaphragms.  Got the carbs on the bike and it still doesn't run for poo.  I've given up.  Thank you all for all the help.  I've called a local shop  to see if they can do anything to help me.  If that doesn't pan out I don't know what I am going to do with this thing.....

What is it "doing" or "not doing" ?

It won't idle and it won't stay running.  The only way it stays running is if I rev it to about 2k to 3k.
