Thanks Mikaw. I've got a guy here that will send me one and if it turns out that it's not the problem I can send it back. Basically what you're offering but with quicker and cheaper shipping :)

. The wheel is turned to the right when the handlebars are straight.

I see you don't have the fender installed. My impression is that the brace in the fender helps to keep the wheel straight and reduces the overall freedom of movement. I wonder if installing the fender before tightening the triple clamps would straighten things out

I've vapour blasted numerous engines, including cases, covers, cylinders and heads with no issues.  The important thing is to use a lot of straight water to wash the part thoroughly to clear out any remaining beads.  Then blow dry with particular attention to threaded holes.  I've never had an issue, but I know. that if the engine is blasted wet and then allowed to dry before it's cleaned there will be bead residue all over it.  I also dry blast my engines before wet blasting to keep the dirt and gasket pieces out of the wet blaster.  I'm also lucky to have a friend with blasters only 3 hrs from home, and he allows me to dry blast while he then does the wet blast.

In looking at your photos I have a question...have you reversed your forks from the way they were when the accident occurred?  I'm just wondering if that has anything to do with the apparent misalignment.  Also, normally I will install the triple tree first and then install the forks.  Is that how you did it?
I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

Thanks for the ideas guys. The resistance when trying to straighten it makes me think I'll just end up twisting the fender if it is put on first. As far as assembling goes, I usually put the top clamps on loosely to get the fork height set properly, but don't tighten them down until I've jumped on the forks a couple of times to straighten everything out. I'll measure the angle of both forks on the weekend and I should have the second bottom clamp by then.

I'm about to head over to the garage and check out the bottom triple clamp that arrived yesterday.

In the meantime I have another question for you guys (probably more for those of you in the UK): I have a good set of oversize pistons (+0.5mm) and have been looking for rings. I have the choice between IMD for €160 or OE for €210. Is it worth the extra money for the original rings or are the IMD rings just as good? This bike won't be a daily rider so I won't clock up a lot of miles.

Went over to the garage today, despite it being about 2°C and me not having a heater

Measured the angle of the forks (bottom clamps tightened down, top clamp removed, wheel on). There was almost 1° difference. Put in the new bottom clamp and everything was straight: forks at the same angle, rim pointing straight ahead. I guess I need to go back to the powder coaters now...

A victory followed by a minor setback. Still appears you 2 steps forward and only 1 back. That’s progress!

I’m not experienced enough to comment here but Nessism has mentioned not to underestimate the Cruise Image parts. And I have seen in videos that Johnny’s Vintage uses NPR.

Yeah, definitely a win on the triples. Still have other stuff I can do so waiting for the powder coaters isn't a big deal.

I tried to get some NPR rings but only found the standard size over here. Not in too much of a hurry as I don't even have the crank back, so I may just keep an eye on ebay for a while.

Not sure if this would be an option. I guess it depends on what you have into your pistons. For the price of just rings you get 10.25 to 1 pistons, wrist pins, and circlips.

Did these trees come with the frame that needed straightening ?
