Oh that's odd dunno why its not linking now, here ya go:

Kz 750 LTD warming up and ticking noise right side:

Just skip through it til the end then you can hear it quite clearly, about 5 mins in. You can't hear it in the other video but when your in the bike its pretty loud to the human ear.
I'm not sure if it does it everytime I put it on reserve but I filled it up today and was running a little bit better but not much so its kinda sporadic weirdly. I'm just synching the carbs up, I'm doing it 1-2, then 3-4, then 2-3 together as I read you can do it like that with a 2 cylinder carb tune, if it ends up all over the place then I'll go get a four cyclinder one I guess.
weathers turning back here to spring time so good riding weather now :)

Got the carbs all synched up, took it out for a ride and... Exactly the same :S
Have noticed that the top of the downpipes are going blue now though so obviously indicative of a lean condition. So back to the drawing board :/ must be carbs still.

How exactly are you doing the carbs with 2 gauges - writing down each reading and then comparing ?
That tick is only the right side ? Got any mates with 4 cylinder bikes and gauges :)

Check the strainer at the petcock. Also use a guitar string or wire from a wire brush to clear the pilot jets. They tell you not to fill up when the truck is filling the tanks at the gas station. It mixes up all the sediments at the bottom of the tank.

I was expecting it to sound a lot rougher than that from what you have said - you must be going in the right direction :) .

Yeah its not that bad its just more annoying because the tapping gets really loud when your at revs on the road. overall it seems pretty solid its just that tapping and the lean thing.
That is how i synched them the way you mentioned writing them down etc. got them all level at 25 on the morgan carb tune.

I have the same bike as you and I had a ticking sound on the right side after I rode for a while. I found that the noise was actually an exhaust leak. I replaced the copper gaskets and reinstalled the pipes and the noise went away. I also get the same low idle chugging which makes rattling like the timing chain is slapping.

That's interesting i did actually think about whether or not the exhaust gaskets could need replacing awhile ago, did you find it made any difference to performance also? i think i will swap mine out for fresh ones as the copper gaskets are quite cheap anyway.
Do you think that low idle rattle is normal then? or do i need to tighten my tensioner up a bit you reckon?
Cheers.

Mate the gaskets didnt even cross my mind - we were looking too hard at all the other stuff. Would make a difference if they are not sealing properly and thats your ticking. Idle ticking is normal from correct valve clearance. From what i could hear camchain sounded ok. :)

I heard the engine fighting itself at idle. The chain noise is because of it. Fine tune it and it should go away.

I thought it was the cam chain but remembered he has a primary chain. They tend to get noisy when not running right.
