carb issues?

The KZ 750 LTD are supposed to do 125 MPH - ?
The Zephyr does 128 mph/205 kph - only the once though - too bloody uncomfortable being naked.The bike that is :laugh: How are your speeding fines there - if they caught me doing that i would have no licence and HUGE fine.
That little Zephyr must have been revving hard at those speeds.
i am getting slower so sit on 55 most of the time - up to 70 MPH when passing but i give it a clean out occassionly up to 100 no problem - bit blowy though
Know what you mean - you think you are on top of things then something else pops up you have to buy - wouldnt have it any other way though.Had a bike for 33 years - 1 car when i was 17 for a year - boring. .

Yeah 110 was thrashing the nuts out of the zephyr, only did that a few times
To be honest I don't ride like a Nutter anymore, but I do like to give it a fist full when the roads are right, but yeah same here legal speed limit is 70mph then fines over that and ban over 100 or so.
That's some of the reason for swapping the sports bike too other than old Kawasaki's just being damn cool, the fact that the Honda was just too tempting to give it some, was gonna end up getting me in trouble :evil:

Mate never ridden naked - :laugh: might need my special bits one day i like to give it a rev no doubt - just accelerating hard nowadays - i am sure the cops will come up with some sort of penalty for accellerating too fast one day - i love those new bikes but i would probably get into trouble real quick with the piggies if i had one.Mick.

I got the vids uploaded onto youtube, one is of a quick ride around my area to show the rev issue, i couldnt really open it up too much as its all in town, but you can tell around the 2.50ish mark that its not getting above 6k much even though im holding the throttle wide open. i couldnt be bothered to edit it so there is a bit of a 'doh' moment where i get stuck on a chair in my yard at the beginning and have trouble pushing it back haha.



The other vid is of the ticking noise from the right side of engine after i warm it up, might wanna skip to about 5 minutes in to hear it properly though. you can hear it a bit on the other vid of the ride too but not that well:

hmm yeah sorry i dont have a proper cam had to do it with my camera video function peeking out of my jacket so it didnt slap around hence the shitty sound
Weirdly if you play it on a phone it sounds better, more treble i guess and can hear the ticking etc.

lol second vid is awful sorry about that, didnt realise the fuel was running low so had to mess about with it and put it on reserve, just skip the whole first half

The thing i dont get is that it was running a lot better yesterday when it was getting the revs up nicely, and then today it just seemed a bit lacking again, only thing i that was different today was that i put it on reserve?

Sounds like it's not hitting right on all cylinders. Check the plugs and see what they tell you. Might be pilot jets clogged or way out of sync.

Thanks swest, carbs and jets are all clean, done them a few times but I haven't synched the carbs so will do that tomorrow and see how it goes

I can only see the town ride video on the post SKK and cant really hear anything.Where is the idle video ?
I never let my tank get low enough to turn to reserve - well maybe once or twice in the last few years on a long ride. Try and keep it full if you can.Something strange going on there with the tap if it changes the performance like that - have you noticed it runs rough every time you do that mate ?
