Have you got a pic of how the caps/vacumn line on top of carbs is set up at the moment ?

Some carbs have a vacuum nipple that may be confused with one of the two vent nipples.

Be sure the vac hose from petcock isn't attached to a vent nipple.

Except for the vacuum nipple being used to supply vacuum to the petcock, all other vac nipples should be capped/plugged.

Assure that both of the two vent nipples exit to open air.

Good Fortune! :)

Not on mine Patton - long vacumn line joins 1 and 4 another short line from 2 to 3 with "T join" between them which then runs to fuel tap

SKK not a great pic but you get the idea mate.
Only other nipples are float bowl drains.

Yeah those carbs look very similar to mine, that's where my vacuum tube vents to those nipples. Mine is only on one of the nipples though which I think is correct. Where do your 1 & 4 go to? Ram air system perhaps?

If you havn't tried hooking up vacumn lines same as mine it would be well worth a go.
this is how mine came out and had it 21 years - never had that fuel starvation problem like your bike.
Same nipples are where you would put lines to sync carbs.

Ok mate its definitely worth a go, perhaps there's not enough vacuum getting through with just the one hose and where I took off the exhaust recycle system so can't hurt to play around with it.
