The cam configuration bears no influence.

The head was removed and shipped to Schumann Motor Works for guide replacement...and whatever else requires attention.
Chris Schumann ported the head and installed the valve guides for this build. He also worked on the bathtub head installed on my 82' motor.
BTW, another issue was revealed after the cylinder head was pulled...an issue with potential to do irreparable damage to the motor!
Notice anything unusual in the image below?

All that ended for good when the head came off, and they got caught!

I don't know. The head was shipped before I thought to check.
Likely escaped damage, judging by the lack of visible markings in the oily #3 combustion chamber image below:
