Well, as is par for the course the past week it is cloudy, gray and chilly so once again no riding for me right now. But I was able to do a few things on my lunch break today including swapping back over to the stock filter temporarily (until I can get over to Pops Sunday maybe????) and removed the fiberglass header wrap around the compressor for the horn and installed the cleaner and super high temp resistant (1200 degree F continuous ambient and 2000 F intermittent direct flame) braided wire shielding and cleaned it up. Gotta say I really like how it came out and cleans up the entire area brilliantly! Here are a few pics on it to show the finished product:

Hi All,

Found an interesting set of Rear Sets on Japan Webike, and it says that it fits the GPz750F bikes which as per that website I have found means that the GPz750F equates to the 83-85 GPz750 air cooled models. This specific item that I am putting the link to below is called a "Bearing Type Rear Sets Conversion Kit". Based on the description I can't tell if this is a conversion kit from stock, or if this is a conversion for a different sort of aftermarket rear sets that in theory are already installed on the bike, or is this meant to convert stock gear and brake controls to these aftermarket ones???

I believe that is a conversion for a set of aftermarket rearsets already fitted. I've seen complete kits. Let me do some digging for you.

I figured that was the case, $200 for a set of sexy rear sets was too good to be true, looks like the right option is still the rear sets from Fast From the Past. Thanks again for helping out so much doug!!

So will pick those up for $295, and think they will work pretty well and look slick on there for sure!!

First things first though, need to get the new tank on and petcock, rebuild front forks and add progressive springs... then I can go and drop the $$ on these rear sets and do my own fender eliminator kit.

Yeah Steve, $300 is steep for sure and not exactly something I am itching to shell out but they are the only rear sets I have found that I can prove fit my bike and they are some of the cheapest rear sets that I can find period for these bikes. Can find several other options on Japan Webike but they are all more expensive. And I am not all that thrilled about the current shift foot controls as there is a lot of slop and it drives me nuts. I should be clear, NONE of the things I am wanting to do besides the tank and fork seals, are required to fix and get a solid great riding bike. These are things that I want, they are not needs they are wants, but its my money and my bike so as long as I have the money and already taken care of my responsibilities and have to's then I can spend it just because I want to change this or that hahaha.

The rear sets I want to change partially for the look, but mostly to help clean up the slop in the shift linkage on the stock bike, I notice it and makes my eye twitch every time I change gears lol.

I know what you mean. I always wanted the chrome goodies but couldn't afford them. Now it's one piece at a time and it makes me feel good doing it.
Those look pretty good and the cast brackets strong. Upgrades are always worth it.

Thanks Steve and totally agree. Its rewarding to wait and pine away and lust after something and EARN it by working yourself and saving for it and finally being able to buy that "farkle" or goodie or upgrade with your own hard earned money and bolt it on one piece at a time. Sure it would be fun to go hog wild with money and buy everything at once, but honestly the satisfaction of working hard for it and doing it the old fashioned way that is so rewarding.

My son left his 1980 Suzuki 750E open for 10 years. I gave it to him. If he had to work for it, I don't think that would have happened.
He's mad at me because I wouldn't help him fix it. It finally went to the bone yard.

Sorry to hear that Steve, sometimes people just want something for nothing and don't want to put in the effort but want all the benefit as if they had. I get faced with that nearly a dozen times a day at work, it is frustrating and makes you ashamed to call yourself the same species, but that is sadly the times we live in anymore. Hope things improve for you and your son and he can mature a bit more and come back around to share something special and rewarding with you such as building and riding bikes
