Week as hell huh? I find your result to be considerably better than week, hell, I've seen guys who claim to be good do much worse. But those are some purdy welds.

Thanks guys, I tend to be my worst critic, I have been known to scrap some things that would have been ok to use but I am just f%#ked in the head sometimes.

i understand fully.
when you picture something in your head it is perfect :) .

then when you render it in your favorite medium and you see little imperfections here and there,or it didn't come out just right  ,you want to crumple it up and throw it in the garbage  .

but in all reality if you have never built the part before, the first one is really a prototype.

so if the first one is even useable you are ahead of the curve.

i know what you mean tho,
i hate to waste material and don't want to build one just to figure out how i should do it.

keep us posted,

True ,but what it truly does is make me want to go out and buy a shear and brake and work on learning more about sheet metal fab.

Well its been a little while, my son has kept me busy over the last few weeks on his truck, plus all the other work I had the bike has been on the back burner. But when I get a min or two I throw new ideas around, I have been toying with making a new set of engine covers. A clutch, points and stator and maybe a valve cover. But at some point I need to stop Fu$king around and finish this thing, there are other bikes waiting in the wing to be done. I am thinking of machining all the covers with see through windows this is what I have drawn up so far.

Every picture I see of those shows nice fresh clean oil. I wonder what they look like after the oil turns dark and nasty looking?

I have seen the ones from Klasmo Harvey there pretty cool. I made one back in the early 90's for an old kaw that I had and I made one for a yamaha banshee I built a few years ago, thats why I think it would be cool to do a set for the kaw I am building now because you never see a set just the clutch cover. As far as dirty oil if you change the oil every 1500 miles or so it dont look bad.

This is the banshee that I built that had one I will try to find a pic of it.

The green kaw is the one I built the clutch cover for this pic was taken at daytona in the mid 90's
