Well I have been on hold with the outside drive waiting on the sprocket that I ordered, so in the mean time I have been working on some head light mounting brackets. But that will have to be put on hold now because my sprocket came in today and now I can get back on the outside drive.

Machined out the main plate for the out side drive bearing support today, turned out pretty good I changed it here and there to add some more mounting holes for more support and a little protection for my foot and leg. I will try to get the standoffs made and the bearing insert done by the weekend, then I can cut the dummy cover that bolts on.

i am wondering if u left enough room for the chain to go up within the frame ?
the chain does slap upwards quite a bit. i had to add a roller above and below each run to keep it in check.
Just a heads up just in case.
Looking good.

Funny you should say that Mark, I make a chain roller now that I use on the lower loop of the race bike swingarms I make and I was planing on running one on the lower loop when I weld it on there, but I still have to figure a way to run one on top that looks clean or one that is hidden. Good call thanks for the input.

i run a bearing on the lower bolt of the motor mount and i made up a plate to support a bearing below. this will be of no use to u since u are running out further . maybe u could run a bearing on the inside of the support plate?

Today I went ahead and machine the dummy cover for the bearing support plate,I changed it up a little so I could fit a larger brass knuckel design on it ,and I had to take away some of the overall thickness of the part because it would have stuck out past the stator cover and that would look like sh!t,it turned out ok but it could have been a better, I got in a hurry and steped over too much on my finish pass instead of .015 I should have steped over maybe .007 but the program was long enough and I wanted to get the hell out of there. It will work out just fine, just needs a little elbow grease with some sand paper to clean up the tool marks, what I dont get out the chromer will.

The last time I ran a VMC I was using 0.007" stepover on my finish passes when 3D profiling. Those parts looked good enough that the NASA guys didn't gripe about it, and believe me, they will find anything to gripe about. Our Haas VMC's struggle to have enough memory for serious 3D programs. We usually have to clear out the memory and just run the 3D milling as a separate op. Do you have that problem with yours? Your cover looks good from here.

Wont u get chain slap (wear) on the medial aspect of the chain?why not run the chain Under the bearing?

chain ware is not a problem with rollers.
The angle of the swing arm (droop angle) is the issue here. Since the arm and shocks are not stock the arm angle is lower than stock. If I tighten the chain to kz specs it will get toooo tight when rear axle, s arm pivot, and sprocket line up. Therefore I must run the chain looser (This is common on dirt bikes ). This can cause the chain to hit the lower arm on the swingarm. When the chain is under load it is fine . when u decell it becomes slack and runs on the lower roller. It also depends on what the angle of the arm is doing at the time. When under load, the chain tightens, and slack is removed.
U cant see the upper roller. It is simply a roller bearing on the lower bolt of the motor mount. It comes into play during decal.
