Thanks for all the comments. Today I had some time so I cut out a clutch cover.

After a few hours of changing and tweeking the program it started to look like something

It turned out pretty good but I think I will cut another one and blend the knuckels into the cover a little more.

Pretty slick work you do, my hats off to you. When I see someone that does this caliber of work it never fails that they are their own worst critic. They see the mistakes that no one else can. Am I right?

I wanna be, I wanna be, I wanna be like Mike! Nice work man. I hope to be like you when I grow up. If only I had a VMC in the garage.

Thanks Josh coming from a fellow machinist that means a lot. The cover turned out ok but I am going to change it up a little and recut it just to make it flow a little better.

I can tell you how to get a vmc. Start out with a bridgeport work about 4 to 6 hours a night when you get home from your job and 10 to 12 hours aday on the weekends,SAVE THE MONEY buy a tig welder, work about 5 years 12 to 14 sometimes 16 hours a day SAVE THE MONEY. Then you have $25,000 or $30,000 to put down on an new vmc.. Then you have about 4 years of payments at around $800.00 a mounth. And thats it I'm sure there are other ways but thats what worked for me.

I have been considering just such a path. I hope that I have room for a small workshop at my next place. Once I get that ball rolling...

WOW!! :woohoo:
What else can i say.
You are an inspiration. :)
I still have your kick start block off sitting on my desk , i will put it on in the spring. I thought that was cool.
Now you've taken it over the top.

Thanks for the comments I am glad you guys like the cover. Over the weekend I had a little down time so I worked on the program and drawing for the cover so one day this week I will cut another one. Sorry but Joe has already ask what I was going to do with the first one and I told him I gave it to my son.

I purchased another frame off ebay some time back so now my son wants to build an old kaw also or should I say he wants me to build him an old kaw lol. I have a few USD frontends, swingarms and old kaw motors so I say what the heck lets do it.

Here is the frame from ebay, not to bad but a god ugly color.

any plans of doing a plain(without the knucks)clutch cover?
possibly thicker to clear a lockup.

i can't wait to se how you and your sons bikes turn out.i am sure they will be top notch.

keep up the good work, and keep us in the loop.
