Looking for suggestions.
My 77 carb body might be damaged beyond repair.
Found out why my choke starter plunger is bent.
It wasnt me when I tapped the carbs. My 6 year old son was in the garage trying to "fix my bike" the other day with my lead hammer., imitating me tapping the carb bowls with a screwdriver.
I checked the garage video feed and saw him do it two days ago. He likes to "help" and banged on the carb body and I think bent the starter plunger mechanism or or rod. Now it wont close unless I push it HARD with my hand.

if anyone has a set for sale. Or replacement suggestions, let me know.
Normal, choke off

Choke Opened

Wont close unless forced:

If it were mine, I would find out what is bent and the straighten the bent bits.

Upon closer inspection, it looks like the casting that the plunger screws into has a non-factory flat spot on it. If the plunger does not unscrew without excessive force, there may be a bigger project involved. Still, I would find out exactly what is messed up and then decide the path forward.

Best fit are probably the 77-80 750B/G models, since they have the same carb holders & airbox.  You could use the later CSR or Ltd Belt carburetors, but then you might have to bother w that other stuff mentioned.  The 750 Twin engine is pretty much the same thru the entire model run w just minor differences. steell & bountyhunter are pretty knowledgeable on the models, in case you stumble across any of their posts.

Thanks for this. I had asked the question a few times and didnt get a response. If someone else on this site knows what other carbs may fit on this bike, please let me know. My neighbor just made me an offer on this bike so who knows, I may not care anymore by the end of the day.

From Partzilla the 76-78 B models had the same carburetors, but the 79-80 B/G should fit the same.

edit:  the 79 B carbs might be the same; the x-ref indicates 2 carb assy part numbers. Kawasaki lists the B4 carburetors separate from the earlier B models. look at the 77 diagrams to see what I'm talking about.

Awesome. Thanks again. Hopefully the bent starter plunger can be straightened. I'll take the carbs off this afternoon and post an update

As I ;understand it the 76-80 750 twins came stock with BS38 carbs. The 82 -83 models came stock with BS34 carbs. You may find info at this link of interest.

Again as I understand it some of the Yahama bikes also made use of the BS38 carbs.

Beyond an obvious bend in the choke plunger Id be looking at the “non factory” flat spot the Tex noticed. The plunger is a snug fit to the bore. Your little helper might have made your round bore into a “D” shape. I’m sure it could be drilled to correct.
