Hey, thanks for the comments. Digital photos often times make stuff look nicer than it really is. The bike doesn't look new, but a lot of the parts do, or almost after refurbishing them. The frame, engine, & bolts, and some other stuff are kinda dingy and old lookin. I'll just keep pluggin away. All n all, I'm pretty satisfied with the bike as it is right now.

JMK.

kind of before, but after doing some stuff to it & getting it road worthy.
stock mufflers. seat cover was torn on the other side. rusty spokes. green duplicolor paint not fuel proof. doh.

It does look very nice. I like the paint very much. Did you end up putting lower handlebars on it? Would be interested in a photo if you did. Good luck with her.
Take it from me cuz I found

The handlebars in the pics were installed in place of the stock bars.
Something lower would be better, but the BMW med tall street bars are a vast improvement over the original mini-apehangers.
They're good for around town & for speeds up to 55 mph or so.

Hi Jay, welcome to KZR! Those rims are stock KZ mag wheels. They are pretty common finds on ebay. Definitely cheaper than buying new rims and spokes to fix up ratty spoked wheels.

The wheels are from a 1980 KZ550-Ltd --- off of ebbaayy for cheap.
They were a direct swap --- very easy --- all you need are the wheels & the front brake disk.
Everything else swaps. axles. spacers. speedo drive. sprocket carrier. brake panel assy. etc.
I installed new All-Balls-Racing wheel bearing kits which have the oil seals, including the seal for the speedo drive unit, so you can clean & lubricate that thing. probably often overlooked. the 650-CSR & 550-Ltd use the same kits.

Cast alloy wheels. 1980-83 KZ550-Ltd or 1983 KZ650-CSR. And I believe the front wheel from the 80-83 KZ550A-Standard is the same & maybe the 550-Ltd Shaft front wheel. There is at least one KZ440 that has the same front wheel. I think a 440G. ???
