Excellent thanks! I'll look into them...

On another site this was mentioned as well but I think I may have additional issues...

I tore into the top end last night based on recommendations/confirmations where the timing chain may have jumped a tooth that could be causing the low readings as well. Gladly that wasn't the case...

And before anyone remarks, yes, exhaust sprocket dimple at deck height, one pin up and count over 28 pins to intake sprocket dimple....

Unfortunately I did find something that was odd....
As can reviewed in the image, the intake cam lobe center should be in the same orientation to the valve cover decking but is slightly off, like one tooth.

Obviously I need to look more into this for they should be the same (I believe anyways)

Now the good news is I put it all back together, checked my carb throttle valve heights, re-set my pilot screws back out at 1.5 turns and started up.... Idled at 1500 rpm for checking with the gauges where all within spec between each other... Same thing ~ 1"...

Were do the pilot screws end up when they are set to give u the highest idle rpm?
My understaning with the mikuni. carbs is that if u have to go out from seated, more than 2 turns or in less than 1 u should try a dif size pilot jet.

Hey Mark....

Not quite there yet due to needle fluctuations... Henceforth, Morgan Carbtune ordered.

Due to original Keihin settngs where the plugs where black (non oily) carboned, I prsentley set the pilots out @ 1.5 turns to lean it out some... I also re-adjused the throttle valves out 1 full turn just to get them to idle @ 1500rpm.

Bayby steps for now while learning the in's & out's of carb synching and tuning... I'll keep you posted as I go... B)

Then in confirming a possible tooth jump on the cam chain, Nope good to go on 28 count. I did find though that the cam lobe centers off! Most likely due to new fresh parts breaking in so I need to degrre both cams back to 105 lobe centers...

shouldnt u have the right jets in before u tune it?
Don’t worry about the cam timing for a while. Id keep an eye on cam chain adjustment. Check it every few hundred miles and when the chain stops stretching u wont be able to adjust it any more. Then u can retime the cams. it may take a 1000 miles? I put 700 on my 1327cc and its still stretching. It’s hard to say if u will get as much with a smaller motor. I am going to put my motor back together and check the degreeing just for curiosity sakes. It will be interesting to see how much it changes the lobe centers.

Supposedly, these were pre jetted when purchasing but since every motor is different, who knows for sure.

I had to get to this point (idle and basic carb sych) to determine the rest in jetting variances. As provided in the previous image, that's pretty much the Kewihin tuning sequence. Now that I at least have it idling I can continue.

In speaking with others, I'm getting different feedback where just worry about being unisom while others said I should be at least pulling 7-10"...

Obviously a learning curve for me as I go... hahahahaha
Since I'm not in a hurry, I want to learn as much as possible along the way, analyze and look at all things I come across.... I know, I know...

Let us know what you find in your dgree measurements, it will interesting to see where it ens up at...

if i ever come across a set of guages i wouldnt mind syncing my carbs too. i've never done a set.i just set the slides all the same on the bench with a wire guage, and go.
My last carbs did not have vacume ports(vm33's).
They say u can get a smoother idle if u sync them, but after the slides open a bit it doesnt matter. i never had a bad idle so i wasnt concerned. My RS34's seem to idle fine too?

OK, low gauge readings resolved.....

In speaking with Larry C and Plummen & researching this dilemma, I was informed to check the camshaft timing... As posted and in the attached image (before on the left & after on the right) the intake CAM was off which was confusing... How much you ask, the cams are designed for 105 lobe centers....

So more questions had to be asked all of which led to getting out the CAM Degreeing kit and re-measuring/aligning.... Well low and behold, the intake was at 118 lobe center!!!!!!

How this happened unknown, most probably due to something I did or didn't do 100% correctly the last time but it was indeed off... My 28 pin count was good...

With this in mind, re-adjusted the intake to 105, measured the exhaust which was still at 105, put her all back together and put the Keihin throttle valves back to how I received them.... Left the pilots out at 1.5 turns.

Wholly smokes, I was pulling the Kawi spec's of 8-9" @ 1200rpm... Now who would of figured!

Thanks Plum & Larry once again, you hit it on the nose where this was to be... Yes, having the needles in unison is important but gut feeling was something wasn't right and as it turned out, it wasn't....

Hopefully this tid bit of info will help others down the road....

Now wait a gosh darn willey wonkers, goobley gonkers, doo-doo head, sonsabitch, holly moe foe minute.....
(I know, I know my place in heckville is waiting  )

Obviously I did listen... hahahahaha...
Put on your glasses old man, see the image on the right!
See all the purdy words where the problem was resolved in confirming with the CAM Degreeing tools....

For me to put those words together on my findings, I had to do as you commanded...  oh wise KZ master.

NOTE to thyself: Old sonsabitch Plummen is going to make me pay for that one.....

All in all, still have the Morgan on way (10 days) for finer tuning... This should be good enough to continue with the basic idle and vacuum pulls @ 1200rpm...

From here & other websites, the Morgan was recommended where a lot of time is saved messing around with jetting due to more precise measurements... Actually, I should say not having to mess around with jetting... We'll see....

Anyhoot, thanks all for the ideas and replies as always,

As for the cam sprocket bolts, loctite and torqued to 11-12 ft lbs master....
