An old man told me once (yelling at me) "you already tweaked it"! "You can't tweakit anymore"! Then he mttrd on spttin and sputtern other uncomprehendible jarbble. His eyes electric and roving in the sockets. This made we wonder how he figured I'd hit the wall. He was a genious in many senses. A self educated man who taught himself how to wire to code out of a book, wasn't anything he couldn't do, (except drill out a broken tap in the end of a crankshft). YEp it was me! He'd see my bike flying down the country road in front of his house and just shake his head. I know through experience that it's not over till the fat lady rides it..... Then you find out though it sounded good it ..... idles kinda rough..... hesitated..... didnt pull hard ..... wtf...... thats when you get get down an dance. The old reality dance. 500 dollar carbs become ashtrays, cams are used for pickin yer ears, the good gas is good with morgans, etc. In the end you may not know what happend in the garage/lab but :woohoo:

Actually, I'm hoping to take some mages & possibly AVI recording of pre & post flames through the view port. Probably won't be very good resolution but if I can pull it off I will post & provide back....
In reading the procedure and theory of the application, makes perfect sense where effiency & optimum performance will be obtained.... Rather easily once you think about it.... Way cool!
It's in route so should have within the next 4 days or so....
I'll add this to my planned Keihin CR Special Installation and Adjustment guide I'll be doing once completed....
As stated previously, I do these tut's for one main reason, since others have shared their knowledge, guided and educated me in theory of the applied science as well on hands on tips & tricks etc... there's only way I can repay their generousity and patinence...
By putting all my notes, experiences, Oh Shits and home runs on paper to share with others in an easy manner to understand and accomplish the task at hand...

Hey Mark....
To even get me in the ball park, I had to back the inner throttle valve screws (on throttle shaft/arms)out 1 full turn. This allowed my idle adjust screw to even make contact with the idle screw stop plate... Ok, this put me in the "Idle" ball park so we say....
In observing my spark plug I realized that I was still burning a little rich where factory Pilot settings were 1 full turn out... Obviously, we all would want this compared to being too lean, especially on a newly rebuilt motor...
Then throw into the equasions where not all motors are 100% the same especially for those of us that have gone the modification route such as pistons kits, degreed cams, valve jobs w/P&P exhaust systems, compressions, leakages etc...
Then as previously mentioned, my cam intake was whacked at 118 lobe center... Re-degreed at 105 L.C....
Anyhoot, backed the pilots out another 1/2 turn...
Now between the three adjustments, she purr's nicely @ 1000 rpm.... I can also bump her down to ~ 800 rpm but with the pilots not dialed in yet, she doesn't purr as nice as the higher rpm setting...
Same time, as stated previously, not good enough yet for ball park or close enough just doesn't work for me... Color Tune and Morgan Carb tune units should be here any day now.

Did u try to adjust each pilots air screw too get the highest idle posible from each one?

Since that is the common way of setting the air/mixture screws, I'm wondering if the highest idle for each carb will occur when the colortune says the mixture is correct??
