In this case, a fuel cap gasket IS that easy.  Looks like you need part no 11009-1051, many places have them for around 10 bucks,  Z1 Enterprises or Partzilla among them.  Partzilla.com has exploded parts diagrams with factory part numbers for most models of Kawasaki bikes,  then you can do a search for what you need.
