TOPIC:

Had to get into the wiring today, as I had Ignition and turn signals but no other lights or horn. These are known for issues with the Junction Block, so I started there. But I had no power coming into the Junction on the "Famous" brown Wire out of the Ignition switch. So the relay in the Junction Block would not latch. Pulled the switch and tested, no contact from White to Brown at Key On. Dissembled and found very dirty contact on the Brown terminal. White comes from the Main Fuse to Feed the switch. Cleaned it all up, reassembled and then tested again. All good, slap it back in and all working.
Then my Gauge Cluster from the Feebay Seller turned up. All ok except for the Speckles of dried on white paint everywhere. That took a while to get cleaned up so it looks decent.
Going over the bike, missing bolts, a couple broken, several loose, cables miss- routed, wiring miss- routed, did I leave anything out????
Got the wrong front turn signal from Cheapcycleparts, so out came the plastic welder to put the mounting ears/ tabs back on the old one. Otherwise it is in good shape.

I had an '06 until I totaled it in '08, well it was the damn plastic that did that, not structural damage to the frame or engine. Would have repaired it but the insurance paid me all but $300 I had in it and included my helmet, basically a free ride for 2 years!

I might have some accessories from it like the backrest/luggage rack, FSM, tank bra, handlebar risers and peg lowers.. maybe some other stuff, have to go up on the mezz in the shop and look. Let me know if you are interested.

That coolant bottle and you will never see each other except for the scheduled fluid changes once you get any neglected connection issues solved. How did you like getting that valve cover out? Fun huh?! One way in and one way out.

If you have the antler covers I can show you what I did so they were always on the bike even with the bags on.

Valve cover came right out, no biggie. Was straight forward.
Sure tell me what you got and I'll consider.
I can't see from the picture for sure, but looks like you drilled/ trimmed the covers to get the Antlers to go on there with the covers.
I've been looking at Risers so tell me what you got, and a rear Trunk would be great. Do you have a mount for a Trunk? Otherwise I'll Fab one. Tank Bra, Maybe? So shoot a list and prices to me in a PM, that would be Cool!!

I need a Right Saddle Bag, and a Fuel Tank. If someone out there has either.

Yeah I had a pattern template for doing that mod to the covers, have to look for it too.

Easy? Maybe they made a change from '90 to '06 but it didn't come out easy on mine and getting it nad the gasket back in there was no pic-nick either.

The right bag is the one I destroyed in the high side and my tank had a softball sized dent in it too.

Have you checked on the Concours group site? Might be some parts listed there, you'll have join though to be able to see them though I think.

I've been trolling looking around for decent parts. We have a pretty big Wreckers up in Denver, but they don't have what I need right now. But that changes all the time, you have to keep calling them.
A soft ball size dent, maybe a lot better than mine. Its kinda whacked.
If you still have parts, what about the Front Cowling Filler side panels, the ones with the storage. Got a Lid/ or a snap on leather cover? My stuff sat outside for quite a while and looks it.
One reason I got it cheap is all the plastics, tank, seat cover, windshield, etc looked like crap. Then although they never said, it of course had electrical issues. That's why they put a new battery in it and it quickly went dead. That's the last time it was attempted to be ridden. No plate or tags on it for many years. But the Motor sounds sweet, and its all coming together.

Tank and other panel parts went with bike, sorry. Every panel but 2 were either cracked or had tabs broken even though it didn't look it. Check with the COG site guys, someone has to have a parts bike they are breaking up.

Not really my back has been absolutely killing me.
But I did the Proper thing and went to DMV all legit for a spin. Mail did not deliver my Bottle, so Tomorrow? I'll have to let the overflow out into the air for a quick spin.
Lots to do yet, but the weather has come good and I want to see what else it might need. Also what it rides like. I'll do a 100mi or so Tomorrow to get the feel of it.
Still got to get a tank or re-do this one, then I could re-paint to match or re-paint all the bike. Also i need a right Saddle Bag, the Inner Case is broken pretty bad. Someone glued it once and did a very poor job, metal plate and self taping screws.
But hey not bad for about $600 including the DMV fees.

I saw some bags on eBay that are pretty good condition for the price (the right is better than the left which works for you) and an '06 tank that looks really nice but is the same color as mine was, there's a right side fairing box on there too. I can't remember though which year they changed the fairings so you have to watch out for that to be sure it will fit.

Yep all on the watch list, waiting for the end of bidding to see what the prices are getting up to.

well went out for a ride, up to Denver to Steeles Cycle salvage. They have 3 Connies up there. Thought I could find some parts but not much luck.
Anyway got 130mi on and I can some it up pretty easily by saying this thing Rides Itself. So smooth, lots of low and mid range power. but won't rev and pull like my KZ. Sure does trac nice and the suspension is quite good even before servicing. Need to get some better grips, these are two small for my Paws. Also a Vista Cruise so you can let go of the right control once in a while. I think I like it, thought it would be a Fix and sell, but?????
