78 KZ 1000 build

Fabrication so far has been minimal, shave swing arm to fit, engine mounts for the J motor, brackets for the instrument pods. We did slot the Cam sprockets and make some bushings here and there but all in all it's coming along. I'm happy!

I haven’t looked through your complete thread,  but are those Kz specific or adapted from something else?  The look to fit really well.

You can use a Kawasaki ZR-7 headlight bracket to mount your front light and turn signals if you want an OE look with a ZRX front end. 

 

Is the hose from the rear master going to be higher than the resevoir ? (Could make bleeding a chore ?)

I'm not sure yet how the master is going to sit. But point taken.

They are KZ specific and a little pricey but it saved fabrication work .
 

Got the fender eliminator kit installed and the tail light and turn signals going in tomorrow, then start routing the wiring harness... I'm considering just clear coating the body pieces as I think they have great 78' patina, if I can match that with the new front fender 

She is looking well, what front fender did you settle on?

A shorter version of the ZRX , bolts right on . It is smooth and doesn't have the indention lines of the original ZRX.

Sending the brake calipers out to be refurbished and in gloss black. The frame, swingarm and brackets will be powder coated in gloss black as well...she going to look good!
