Beautiful rebuild! I did something similar with my XJ650 a few years ago but didn't tear the bottom end of the motor down. I need to go look into that copy cad kit, those parts came out fantastic and I always struggle with hardware replacement. I too am not a pro, just a guy in the garage after the kids go to bed.

An outstanding restoration on your KZ750. I really enjoyed looking at all the photos.

I realize this thread is a bit old but I would like to know where you got the lines you used for the brakes, I looked at Jegs and all they show is the AN 3 ends. Thanks for the build Nessism I love the bike. I'm presently doing a chopped KZ750H.

-3 is the correct size for brake lines.

I bought the parts here but there are lots of sources...www.anplumbing.com/hose-ends/speed-seal-steel.html

Amazing work! That's one of my dreams for when I have an actual garage, to really take apart a whole bike and restore every tiny bit. Then ride it for another 100k km!

Before you blasted your epoxy primer, how did you prepare the surface? Did you used any solvents? I’m getting my frame blasted and wire wheeling and the other parts that are flat. After I was them with soap and water and dry them, is that okay?

Thanks!

Wax and grease remover just before paint. It's applied full wet with a cloth and then wiped off with a dry towel. Soap and water will invite flash rust.

Thanks!
