I bought my filter from Golan, they shipped to New Zealand, and is a great filter.

Info if it helps. Because i work on such a variety of machinery, sometimes one has to adapt and overcome for NLA or things never offered separately without purchasing the whole unit. My take on "pre-filtering" before crap can even enter the fuel path. I've been "rolling my own" filter socks for years using Cuisinart Stainless Steel mesh coffee filters. Cut it, roll it and smash over the end to seal it. Then use an appropriate band to clamp it if used on a petcock brass tower. Because i do a lot of the John Deer tractors, also for them. They didn't originally come with ANY filter on the pick-up tube and all it takes is a piece of leaf/stick to stop fuel flow altogether. Soo while not "directly" related to original topic of inline filters, still applies to undisturbed fuel flow. Even made one for this Kawasaki 1971 MT1 i restored. Multi functional tech!

Thanks, Clay.  Good timing - my Z1 tank is still empty from winter storage, now is the time to make some before I fill it this weekend!

I wonder how finely it filters? Also, I have seen some coffee filters that look like metal, but are actually a fine plastic mesh that may not stand up to ethanol. I currently have an aftermarket stainless steel filter on my coffee maker that lets a bit of very fine silt pass through. The factory sock on my ZRX also lets really fine stuff pass.
I wonder if fuel stations have a filtering standard, and if so, what that
might be?
So many questions..... Need more coffee, silt and all.

I used this to filter my cerekote clear (less than half the price of a 325micron filter from cerekote)

I have twice been broke down on the side of the road due to a fuel filter I had added to a bike.
I've come to the conclusion, a break down is more likely to happen from adding a fuel filter than by not adding one.
If you do add one, carry in your tool kit the means to bypass it.
