3D printed float bowls for testing fuel level

After frustration with air bubbles and inconsistent  fuel level measurements using the clear tube method and inspiration by a guy named ADV rider on YouTube I decided to try to 3D print some bowls for checking fuel level measurements. Good way to check fuel flow as well. I spray them with clear coat and they have held up well. Apologize for the quality of the pictures. Maybe I’ll try to get new ones.

These look a good way to test all four when off the bike before the install, are you looking to sell sets? It would be good to see close ups of the full levels when the floats close the valves👍

I will try to get the pictures your suggesting. Haven’t really given much thought to selling but if anyone is interested I could see making some.

I think there was a post in the past about using a jar for level setting.

Yes, it's a method developed by SlmJim.  I use it faithfully but I modified it a bit.  I do two carbs at a time, usually 1 and 3 and then 2 and 4.  The distance between 1 and 2 or 3 and 4 is too tight to use 4 glasses.  Besides, my Sweetums was extremely pissed when I stole two glasses.
I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

This is the thread hardrock is referring to.

We've allowed that thread to languish, but development has continued in starts & stops.  We'll update elsewhere to not hijack this thread.

I am glad that I did not forget reading it in the past. I have said this before, there is huge amount of knowledge sometimes buried on this site. One just has to have the time and willingness to go down the rabbit hole so to speak to find it. There is all kind of great information in the file base, and searching the forum can provide many solutions to issues.
