A short video, while available:

Not much change for spark plug/cylinder 3, so...

If a valve seal is the culprit, it will be either the intake or exhaust, so I'm mentally prepared to pull the cams and replace both seals in one swoop.

Just need to get them, and determine how to pull the old seals off the valve guides without damaging something in the bucket bore...while the head is on the motor, mounted in the frame.

Im sure it possible to change-out a guide seal while head is still in place? But might be tasking, pressurize the cylinder or feed rope down the sparkplug hole? The valve guide seals are the same 650-1100KZ's The disadvantage to that is you might be missing a key component of failure, that requires a bit more work, disassembly.

Almost 6000 miles on the build, and the suspected #3 oil consumption issue doesn't worry me as much as it pisses me off...a little.

Just the idea of having to add oil to this motor because of something potentially simple (like a valve seal)...drives me craZie!

😵‍💫!

Besides, I have a new valve spring installation tool that needs testing on an assembled motor that is mounted in the frame.

I may have knicked one or two while assembling the head but the straw method didn't wotk for me. I still suspect the rings haven't fully bedded in causing the oil issue. It isn't fouling plugs so I'l just RIDE.

Steve, I didn't realize Bossie had a consumption issue.
You've ridden her piss out 🫣 how many miles since the last build, and how many qts./mile is she currently guzzling?

About 1/4 a quart a month. It doesn't smoke  and the plugs look good.

Considering I've been riding around 1k miles per month this year, I don't think that would be a realistic expectation for me, for some reason.

I haven't been on long rides after the last rebuild.

But Steve, you still "ride the piss out of it" though, right?
