Exhaust mounting
13 Apr 2019 13:52
Hi, I have an exhaust like the one pictured, and can’t find any info on mounting hardware.
Does anyone know about this type of exhaust?
Thanks.

Don't know exactly which KZ you have but to mount this pipe to most Kz's
You will need the following parts, 4 exhaust flanges, and 8 split collars And 8 nuts and 8 lock washers!!!
I believe this photo is of Kz900/1000 type flanges and split collars.

What motorcycle is it?
You'll need the correct exhaust holders & correct half-moon exhaust collars from a 70s model. Most if not all of the 81-on models have shorter exhaust collars & won't work with that exhaust header. 1980 was kind of a transition year, so some Kawasakis had the short ones & some models had the long collars.

Thanks for all the good info guys.
The bike is an ‘84 gpz750.
I bought it for parts, for another project. It was missing the carbs, exhaust and brakes.
I thought there was enough there to make it a worthy rebuild.
Just hard when you’re not sure what you need as there it nothing too compare it too.
I got the carbs on yesterday, though I still have no air box/filter. I sprayed some fuel into the carb intake, just to test the ignition. It came to life, but will not run on it’s own. I have fuel in the float bowls, so suspect it’s a vacuum/venting issue.
I really appreciate all the assistance I have received here. Thanks again.
I’m sure there will be more amateur questions to come.
