compression test psi

Hello all just wanted to know does any one know what the psi is for a compression test on the cylinders on a 1980 kz 750 e1.

The values should be in the 750-4 manual. There's a pdf available >> Gold cover w color wiring diagrams.
I did not see the data for the 1980 model year, but the 1983 supplement says the Standard compression is 162 - 191 psi with less than 14 psi difference between any 2 cylinders. The Service Limit is listed as 124 - 191 psi, again w less than 14 psi difference between any 2 cylinders. I'd guess the 80-82 750-4 specs are the same.

If the engine has sat for some time the compression may be abnormally low due to sticky rings, and with some miles that situation may well improve. And it's critical to adjust the valves before performing a compression test because the valves tighten with mileage and a lot of people don't know what maintenance is.
