Replace Head Nuts
03 Nov 2018 11:07
I was thinking replace my heads nuts with some black one... but I have some questions around these.
1. If I replace one nut at the time, is there any risk the top gasket can be damage, its new from last year... and I don`t want to generate some exstra work?
2. Anybody know somebody selling black look head nuts for my 750 engine (92015-076) ?
Thank you.

As long as the head isn't dislodged you should be fine. What I would do is remove all the existing head nuts and then replace them, tightening in the recommended sequence with a good torque wrench.
I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

I'd do them one at a time. As for nuts, APE sells some nice ones but not sure if they are the same size as stock.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configuration
I also think the best is to take one by one when it comes to the gasket.
APE, these you was thinking about, APCHN1000K?

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationSomebody know if these will fit, seller inform about size and threads below?
OEM Kawasaki is also 10mm so they should fit, maybe they are some taller, but it should not be a problem ?
Looks like OEM is 17.5mm high and APE is 22mm, but that should not be a problem ?
APE CHN1000K
You are looking at a brand new in box complete "cylinder head nut" kit as shown in the picture (made in the USA) size10mm x 1.25 with 7/8 base diameter. These super heat treated cylinder head nuts are a must for high output engines. Help prevent blown and leaking head gaskets caused by the threads in the soft stock nuts stretching. APE nuts are machined from alloy steel and fully heat treated for maximum strength. All APE nuts come with "APE" stamped on the head, be ware of imitations..
