I was going to tell you be prepared for rust they are a super good HD nut but does not take much to rust them.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationSome month ago in the "E-Bay / Craig's List Thread" early cyl. head nuts in Stainless Steel were available.

Those APE nuts look like black oxide which is crappy in terms of rust prevention. The metal is likely (much) stronger than stainless though. Take your pick...

Nessism your are right about APE nuts but without any (much) stronger APE/PMC [studs it´s a waste of Money!
For normal use SS nuts are the better choise....

The APE nuts are a race part. Made super strong to be used over and over. Much stronger that Stainless steel. The finish is black oxide for appearance. It is not a rust preventive.

Give your head nuts a bath in phosphoric acid and they will have a zink plated layer for rust protection.

As longs as I replace one nut at the time, it’s not any risk damage the head gasket?
