Have you try to bolting the stop for the center stand into the inside of the silencer bracket?
This will give you more distance to the rear tire and a better fitment to the center stand.

I am all for moving it anywhere, but it sandwiches the silencer bracket to the silencer, I don't see any way to bolt it to the other side.

Note that the silencer bracket is installed backwards in this picture.

BTW, Delkevic has a bunch of pictures / installation / fitting guides online. The first link listed shows the baffles and internals to the silencer.:

I forgot this pic. I started it briefly with the exhaust off. (YES< I know it can warp a valve, but it did not get hot or even warm for that matter) It really is a fire breathing monster. lol
I started for a few seconds to make sure it spit out all of the water from pressure washing.

I had a video of it running too, but accidentally deleted it from my phone. :-(

Ive had mine on for 2 seasons. I like it. I had some random header on before with a kerker race baffle. That was loud.

After running the stock system, I find the Delkevic system rather loud too.

I didn't like the open hole in the left side of the bike at the rear muffler support, so I reinstalled the chrome bolt and rubber bushings by the LR foot peg. The big gaping open hole just didn't look right as you can see in the pic.

I got a chuckle when I mentioned to a guy the other day that I just installed a nice SS exhaust on my bike.. When I told him that it was an 37 year old Kz1000, he tells me that Kerker had a system for them that was really loud. Keep in mind, this was a random comment to a guy that has never seen my bike that asked what it was when I mentioned installing a new exhaust.. go figger. :-)

The V&H system utilizes the abandoned left muffler support bolt for the center-stand stop bracket included with the package. It is a bent flat steel piece that I keep on the bike, rotated up behind the muffler bracket until needed. Since it only takes a minute to sufficiently install the center-stand, I ride without the thing and just use it for winter storage and service.

Crash guards came in handy more-than once... :pinch:

There looks to be 3 dimples poking into the area where the center baffle is inserted that hold it centered opposite of the bolt end of the inner baffle, if that makes any sense? Check out the tiny weld around the rim of that megaphone.

:-)

A pic of my V&H with the Competition Baffle insert for comparison:

That V&H baffle looks to me to be REALLY loud! Nothing compares to drawing as much attention from the man as possible. It gives me a place to go on Thursday Nights at 6:30 p,m (municipal court) :-) My new SS Delkevic is really loud at idle / low revs compared to what it was stock, then when I crank it.. ye freakin HAW! .. lol

It really does sound awesome, and LOTS of awesome too! I showed it to one of my neighbors, and he could not believe it was the same quiet, mild mannered, docile bike. He liked the deep throaty sound he said.

I had considered using the open hole on the left side for the center stand stop, BUT.. I have one of those pesky roller chains on that side. I know it can be done, since the stock muffler had the stop under the chain, but with the rubber mount / bushings, I am going to bend up a different stop that's a little shorter, to bolt in the same place that it is now.

I can't get over how good your motor looks. Your whole bike looks fantastic, Dave! Did you chrome those engine covers, or did you just spend LOTS of time sanding and polishing them?

I'm addicted to the sound, for which there is no cure. If there was, I would avoid it to my very last breath. When I tire of the rumble, I just put the stock baffle back in.
It helps a little.

Regarding the chrome. All done after I found a chromed gear-case cover on ebay for $15 in 2012. It was just plain weird looking with that one piece of chrome, so I went ahead and had it done.
Found a guy in N. Carolina who did a pretty good job for a very reasonable price. Saved my arm from polisher's elbow...

Made quite a difference, and I'd do it all again. Only problem is staying out of my pictures...
