You know you are on a Kawasaki forum right? I would say most of the people on here will disagree with you, regardless of whether you are right or not.
My (kawasaki) 300 is faster than my brothers honda 600. Mostly because he isn't as fast with the takeoff and shifting, but I easily have him until I hit 65 mph
I have 5 bikes. Two 19 77 Kawasakis and Two Hondas, years 72, 73, 82.
I can tell you the CB900F is faster than a KZ1000. The KZ1000 has 83 HP and the CB900F has 95HP, PLUS I have CR carbs, on my bike. It dyno-ed at 105 HP. Its ridiculously fast. Added to that, I raced against a KZ1000 and smoked the dude really really bad.
Considering how you grandma your bikes I find that EXTREMELY hard to believe. In all your videos that you insist on posting you never once down shift to overtake and NEVER take it to redline. The kawasaki owner probably didn't even realize you were racing because you rolled on the throttle like you were out for a sunday cruise.

I just wonder about the configuration of the engine. Does it have a roller bearing lower end? Does it have babbitt cam bearings or is it like your old CB 750 that when there is an oiling issue the head is toast? Are parts readily available?
As for HP your figures are off at least with the Z1/KZ 1000.
The Z1 was advertised having 82 BHP at the crank while the KZ was rated at 91 stock.
Love for you come along side of my old worn out Z1 and try it sometime like the kids on the newer bikes. I drop down two gears, grab a handful leaving you to catch up if you can see through the dust and smoke.
Like the dealers say, "watch out for the old Z1's, they'll surprise ya."
Couple that with an old guy that doesn't give a FK and can fix whatever he breaks, you got one hell of a fight on your hands.

I grandma my bikes? All my riding buddies would laugh in your face until they died of laughing!
I USED to have videos up of me doing ridic speeds until someone pointed out the the authorities regularly seek out videos like that and prosecute ppl who are stupid enough to put them on the web.
I am not about to "unprivate" some videos i have just to prove a point to you. EVERYONE who knows me knows I like to go as fast as possible, and push my bikes to the limit.
And yes I know this is a Kawa site, and Kawa DEFINITELY built the best bikes of the 70s, but my 1982 Honda CB900F will CRUSH a KZ1000 and a CB1100F would make a KZ1000 owner cry.... and I have the video to prove me crushing my friend. I just cant put it up for legal reasons as stated above.
CB900F >>>>>>>> KZ1000. Its not even a question.

For legal reasons, I cannot confirm that I am the person riding the CB900F in the video you see below. Wink

You need to get your speedo checked if you think that was anywhere near 130 and you do realise thers a picture of you in the top left of that video!

Sorry, you cant take the credit. It was my wife who pointed out that showing most riding videos is not necessarily smart.

I cannot confirm that the person riding the video put on CB750F speedo from 1979 which goes up to 150, a common thing to do since laws in the early 80s' regulated speedos to show only 80 mph. From what I hear, many owners of cb900Fs and CB1100fs swapped in a 1979 CB750F speedo which goes up to 150. Its a common swap. I also cannot confirm that THIS is the video where the person on the CB900F is racing the KZ1000.
I believe that video would be far to incriminating to post.
Suffice it to say, whoever is on that bike in the video I posted is going FAST and I believe showing speed might have been the point.
