Rich You Take Care my Friend!! Perhaps during recovery you can get some of those Revell 1/24 scale Model Kits of the KZ and widdle the time away. Sorry the glue doesn't smell like it did back in the days, ha.

Multi tasking. Joe, Yes got tired of sorting all those British three different thread styles and decided to finish up this Honda 350F. Still a twist of the overly complicated 72-75 carbs but Keihin's take on the design. Hadn't been running in over 2 decades but it does now but still Needs soo much more. Guy just said get it running so that's just what i did, ha.

Clay, you really do have a lot of different irons in the fire
Nice little Honda, easy to like (at least if you like Hondas; this early design was quite nice, and it is a real four-cylinder bike,..in my youth, we´ve called them "Lady-bikes", cause some little ladys have looked very nice on them
) -
Today and yesterday I struggled with installing a used Tarozzi footrest system. A few things were missing, and some didn't fit, so I had to make various parts myself.

28 Aug 2025 21:32I rented one and almost bought one but I bought the Z1 instead. Come to find out they had oiling problens and I doubt it would be running today the way I ride.Multi tasking. No doubt You'll be successful manufacturing the missing bits with Your machining skills Joe!! Are they rear sets for your KZ shown? Steve that's quite a diverse decision, a lowly 350 vs a Z1, You made the correct decision waay back, ha. I thought these little 350F's were sorta rare? Apparently not out here, have already worked on 3 of them within a year from 3 different owners. And a couple CB400f's too. Not aware of the "oiling" issues but do know they had camchain tensioner issues. A shoehorn design, often neglected/never maintained and parts get eaten-up from all the slop.

Irons in the fire or glutton for punishment Joe, i don't know but they keep piling up. This little bird is a breeze, 1979 GT80 MX version. Needed crankshaft seals and a run thru. Someone took the oil injection tank off but left the gear assy attached for the pump, bad idea, pump could lock-up and break the plastic drive gear inside the trans cover. I'm always left with the executive decisions, bummer.

Yes, I made a new pushrod for the master cylinder (a previous owner had welded the linkage with a mount for the Z1's "barrel"), so I also made the "barrel,"
then milled a few mounting plates for the passenger footrests out of aluminum, assembled everything, and finally realized that it would be better to rebuild with the original parts... I simply ride better with them.
...sometimes, it is funny: You think ya must have these oldschoool footsrest, like i had often and many years,..but times are changin`, i just realized, that my actual " sit on the bike position" is perfect for me,...when i ride it, i am just with the tips of my feet on the rests,..perfect feeling, full control,..No reason to change it...and so, i´ve done my work reverse to this it was before....few hours for nothing,..or: For a right decision! hahaha..!
...You're simply a born mechanic, Clay, and your friends and customers know what they're getting! YOU just do it!!

Another day chasing the fading summer,..again along the big river...
The days are slowly getting shorter, autumn is just around the corner...so I drove another 146 km today...and when I got home, there was already a letter from the authorities: We´ve caught you on radar...grrr...another €50 gone with the wind...The price for a little fun is slowly climbing to inflationary heights....

Re: ...and again back from a fine bike-tour...!
08 Sep 2025 07:56 - 08 Sep 2025 07:58I had a CL350 back then. Went everywhere on that bike, kept up with the Harley's, took it through the high brush to my favorite spot in the Malibu hills to have my tuna sandwich and a couple beers enjoying the pine tree stand and wildlife on weekends. I'd come out here as much as I could, that was when one car an hour would come by during the day. Had my first rear tire blowout on the FWY one night coming out here packed up with my girlfriend on the back. A spoke went through the tube. Found a ride in a bar, fixed it at the gas station and spent the weekend in this old scary house. Stoked up the wood burner and listened to the sound of the wind and bumps in the night. I loved it she didn't. It was at that point I knew I needed a new bike. My boss and BF had Z1's and they would walk away from the Honda's and the like. I test drove a H2 a friend had for sale for $900 but I couldn't keep the front wheel down on the FWY so the Z1 it was. Bought the demo model with 84 miles on it in Costa Mesa and was hooked for life. Yeah it was heavy but at low speed it rode like the Honda. On the 405 at 2AM it hit 1000 miles so I dropped down a couple gears and grabbed a handful and took off. It felt like the devil grabbed me by my jacket and yanked me forward. I tucked in with my aviators just above the Tach and Speedo where I saw 155MPH where I backed off. The street lights looked like picked fence at that speed and it was the last time I tried that. I go over a ton at times even reading 130 briefly but wind it down quickly. All and all it was one of the best decisions I've ever made.No doubt You'll be successful manufacturing the missing bits with Your machining skills Joe!! Are they rear sets for your KZ shown? Too bad I can't say that for women.

Hi Steve,
Nice bike!! -Always fine to see a `75 !
I`ve had also a 1975 Z1B for more than 20 years, it was one of the best Kawasaki bikes i have had, perfect riding bike, especially when my lady was behind me, ( The bike than lays perfect on the streets with that 50 Kilos extra "load"!) Always thinkin`about this bike, and it was a pitty, that i´ve sold it in 2017....but sometimes, ya can´t hold it all.... ;-(

Here are a few pictures from today. "Riverside Joe" took another little tour through the borders of his hometown...always around the river, I'm surrounded by water here...
