I actually had Short Block Charlies in Tempe rebuild it for me. He cut new valve seats, resurfaced the valve and cut down the valve stem to the proper length. Checked to make sure the valve guides were good. He was more than fair at $180.

This time I think I did much better. Got self etching primer and a couple of coats of filler primer. Will get it sanded and see how it turned out. Especially if you plan on doing 2 part epoxy. That is some nasty stuff. Yes there is a filter on the side I took a pic of and another filter with a box fan on the other side. I use a good resperator and a paint suite. I will be using Dupli-color pre-mixed paint. Have decided to do Jett black with silver leaf offset pin stripes.

What KZ Joe said! The bike is going to be awesome. If you get it completed for The Rally, great! If not, no worries, it would be better for you in the long run to finish this project the right way, take your time. Remember, you can come to The Rally even if your Phoenix Fighter is not completed. Just find a way to get there. There will be a bike for you to ride. The Rally is for a short time. Your bike is going to be for you long term.
