I suspect they be 32-34's. I hope so. The 26's are good carbs whether they're popular or not. Get some late model boots if they are. Better to go up (within reason) than stay put and spend money doing it.

As for the cam sprockets, Not if you have the early style cam chain. That's why they are called drop ins. If you have the Hi Vo, you might have a problem.

The Keihin CR carbs come in odd numbered sizes (29, 31, 33, 35 etc...) and the size is stamped on each carb body. The stamps come off sometimes though.

On the cam sprockets, you can go with slotted sprockets if you want to degree them. There is supposed to be a performance difference but it's a lot of work for something you might never notice. As long as you have the correct number of teeth you should be good. 15 tooth crank=30 tooth cam sprockets, 16t crank=32t sprockets. Good luck!

Now that's why I like it here. Wish it was around when I first started wrenching.

This forum has been a huge help during my build. It would have been a lot more work without it that is for sure. Thank you to everyone that has taken the time to respond.

Did you find out what size the carbs are?

No they won't be here until after Christmas. It was a salvage yard that sold them, they don't always know what they are looking at. As soon as I get them I will post a pick and size.

That piston looks almost new. I can still see the milling marks. I'd still buy rings just for GP.

I agree, better safe than sorry. Thinking about doing a bit of porting and polishing on the head now that I'm going 1075. If nothing else at least the exhaust side.

There is a thread on porting and a video. Instead of opening the intake like I did, they closed up the bottom of the ports to increase velocity. Suggest watching it before doing any cutting. Very interesting.

I have done some research on velocity porting but I don't know of anyone that has done it on a KZ motor. It is quite common on the new 4 port heads. I'll take another look.

I might have to undo what I did in the 80's.
