Well, earned a new patch for my vest.
Yesterday 12:15 - Yesterday 15:40
Thankfully was not on my 1100. Took my roadking for a ride to PA with brother and cousin. After all day on her, a Damm deer jumped me on the way home.
Wadded the bike up a little, broke 5 ribs and my scapula (shoulder blade )
I went 4 wheeling and got tossed around 20 ft when it happened.
being me I was mad and told them when they turned around and got to me I was riding the bike home. They told me no way I was. I was in shock of course. got me a 5k ambulance ride i don't really remember. They gave me fentanyl on the side of the road. They were first setting cones up to mercy flight me to buffalo.
All kinda a blur. I don't remember calling the wife telling her I was ok. Fentanyl is a hell of a drug.
bit, I survived. My dad went down in a lesser acc8dent and didn't make it so I count my blessings.
Just happy I was not on my kawasaki. Parts for that bike are unobtainable.
I have pictures if
anyone wants to see the carnage

Glad you are around to tell the story.
If you're gonna be recuperating for a few months, doing it during the winter is better than missing riding weather during the summer!
Rest up.

Glad you made it. I'm sure you'll be sore for a few months but hopefully you'll be right as rain when next riding season rolls around. I hate to hear about accidents. The older I get the more paranoid I become.

Glad you are a survivor. Those deer are trouble...a common thing to plow into down here in Texas.

A distant acquaintance was killed a few decades ago when he split a deer in half on his bike at high velocity. Happened in the Knobs area of southern IN.
We've had a few close encounters separated by a second or two in time / a few feet in space wherein the deer just pops out of the brush alongside the road at a dead run. No real way to predict or avoid, just luck of the draw.
We were leading a ~30 bike VJMC ride in IN a few years ago wherein a couple on a pristine '81 Honda CB900F was centerpunched perfectly by a deer that ran across an open area & crossed the road. Line of sight for the deer was clear, it just ran into their bike while we were running about 45 mph. Rider was airlifted out, made a full recovery. His wife had some el-cheapo 'fashion weight' (faux?) leather jacket on & no gloves. Jacket came apart at the seams. She ended up with much road rash on arms, hip and legs (thin jeans) & hands.
Happy that you're on the mend. You have one chance to heal well. Stay safe, don't push yourself past what healing can keep up with. Listen to the Docs. PT is your new winter project if prescribed. Do it to the nth degree as if it was your new vintage show bike project.

A nightmare scenario for sure. There are so many of the vermin around here I'm extra careful when out on the bike. Prayers for a speedy recovery.
If it makes you feel any better, I had some great back strap last night .
