Real world experience ordering bike parts from the UK to USA
UPS added $35 for fees on top of tariffs in the 20% range when ordering from England.
In all, +$91 on a $347 order
Bill came 3 weeks after the parts arrived.

What did you order?
Alternative source?
I am ending foreign orders unless I really need it and no source in usa.

Sorry, if it wasn't clear, but this wasn't me.  It was a guy from another forum, ordering bicycle parts.

In the case like this one, there is no option to buy inside the country.  Either buy outside, and pay the tariff, or go without.  And for those that say "go without", realize that we are all riding Japanese motorcycles.

It's sad, when our options are eliminated, or cost is so much more than it was before.  I'm with you, don't buy stuff outside the country.  That said, I don't like my freedom compromised, but that's just the way it is these days.

As Ed said, with  the exception of tuning parts like APE etc what Kawasaki parts are made in the USA ? you won't see the additional charges buying from a US supplier but you will see the increased prices because the vendor paid the duties etc !!!!

Where I used to work, before retiring a few months ago, we had manufacturing facilities in the USA, Mexico, and Germany.  We made aerospace components, and ship to both airlines and OEM airframe manufacturers around the world.

All of our Mexico built products used to come back to the USA side, for final inspection, adding flightworthiness tags, and shipment off to customers.  Due to the tariffs, that practice was stopped to the extent possible.  Now, these products ship direct to countries like Canada, and across Europe.  A facility has been set in Europe, so flightworthiness tags can be added there.  There was a project to bring some Germany production back to the USA, but with the tariff cost added onto the parts produced there, that project was put on hold.  So, no added US production, at least not in the short term.

I guess with the loss of final inspection and certification somebody is now surplus to requirements ?

On products that MUST ship with an FAA 8130 tag, the tariff has to be paid, and the parts brought back to the USA.  Other parts, to the extent possible, were direct shipped, or shipped to that other certification facility.  Very costly, either which way.  And trust me, all extra costs were passed down to the customers.  Next time you fly somewhere, keep in mind costs like this when paying for your ticket.  If you thought motorcycle parts are expensive, check out aircraft parts sometime!

For those ordering anything, or shipping, be careful to get tracking and watch progress.

The "problem" is people are not paying the tariff on packages from China and other high tariff countries.
UPS is stuck with a big pile of packages,  UPS is planning a big bonfire of packages with free hotdogs and chips for UPS employees.

Canada Post will not accept parcels for shipment to the USA until the sender has used an online tariff pre-pay system such as Zonos.  Zonos reviews a description and photo of the package to determine the value and then applies a tariff that must be paid in order to get approval that must be provided to Canada Post before shipping.  I did this recently for a package I sent to a friend in Detroit.  I'm surprised that UPS hasn't implemented a similar system.
I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar.

It seems to depend on the courier as to how diligent they are. I have had parts from the EU recently - some with charges and some without ??
