What a farce. I called the nearest decent shop 30 miles away and they said they had aftermarket LB05F . Drove 30 miles and they pulled out E caps, for plug nuts but I removed the nuts when I bought my plugs and didn't save them. On to the next store, another 15 miles, that said they had them. But they only had non-resistor caps, and they only had 2, so I bought one. When I put that one on #2 the bike was hard to start and runs rough.

So I will replace all the wires and caps now but I may have to order them all online.  And I suspect I will still have problems.

I found an old post where you describe how to make your own. Seems pretty simple, but when you say "7mm copper core wire" is that any old copper wire or does it have to be "7mm copper core spark plug wire?"

Bummer.  And brick-and-mortar stores wonder why so many people purchase online?

7mm copper core "spark plug" wire is the stuff.  Z1 and similar sell it, and caps.

I replaced the wires and spark plug boots on my bike.  I used the 7mm plug wires and non-resistor boots.  It seems that the non-resistor spark plugs are going the way of the Do-Do.  I bought resistor plugs, as they are earlier to find.

The insulation on normal copper wire can’t contain 25,000 volts!!

I get a lot of stuff from Dennis Kirk, at least they are semi-local (only 2 hours). I can often get stuff the next day and shipping is cheap, and I think some of what they sell is the same brand as Z1 but Z1 doesn't tell you the brand.   Looks like DK has what I need so I should have it Tuesday or Wednesday. This will probably be my last gasp attempt of the season.

Really hate to spend too much on this bike. My short-term goal is simply to see if I can get it rideable so I know if I am worthy of the effort to finally go get my B1. If I can't get this working, there doesn't seem to be any sense in it. I have 2 unrideable bikes now and I sure don't need 3. I know that one is going to be a time and money pit.

That's what I'm doing. Ordering 3 more non-resistor caps and 7mm wire, after measuring my coil port.
