Gordone, "don't gap the plugs super wide" means Do not set the sparkplug gap a large amount greater than the specified gap for the sparkplug /engine combo you are dealing with. Example if gap is specified .032 inches You would not want to set the gap at .045 - .050 inches The way I interpret the very good electrical advice given, if you are using 3-ohm coils you will want to gap the sparkplugs per specifications and not any wider

Sorry. Your English is very good so I forgot you might not understand American descriptions.

I think 3-ohm is the best choice in your case.

Nothing to be sorry for, I want to learn so please continue with American descriptions :)

While I`m waiting for the coils and cables, must I try to test the IC igniter...

Simple ohm tests might confirm a bad igniter or pickup, but it can't really confirm a good one. To truly test the igniter you really need a known good coil.

The manual describes how to test it by tapping on the pickups. I might be able to draw up a diagram of how to bench test coils and igniter.

I understand so you advise to wait to I have installed new coils and cables. How do you advise me to test the IC igniter then ?

This is the basic wiring for the ignition. You can set it up on a test bench this way.

Then simply tap the center of each pickup.
The pickup with the blue and black wires will fire the 1&4 coil.
The pickup with the red and yellow wires will fire the 2&3 coil.

Make sure there is a path for the spark at each coil. Without that, the coil and/or igniter can be damaged.

Thank you, stupid question.., but how can I make a path, to avoid coil or ignitor to be damage?

so I need to verify I got spark on 1&4 and 2&3 each time I activate the pickup sensor? Test these 10-20 times for both pickup sensor?

I will waith with these test to I got the new coils and cables.

Just make sure the spark can go from one spark plug wire to the other spark plug wire (on the same coil). The gap between the two should be no more than 3/8 inch (1cm).

Hopefully will I be able to install the new coils next week and test them, if I not come any further with new coils and plug cabals,
will I try to test the IC ignitor. Must I use some special cables for test bench ? Just some ordinary electro cables for car and mc? and make correct air gap?

Ordinary 16ga wire is fine for bench testing. Even 18 gauge might work for testing.
