By the way, the drop should not be zero, that would defy physics.

This is the easiest and the most bullet proof way to hook up the Mosfet Regulator/Rectifier

I will get you some more picks on how I wired it in. For my 77, I ran new wires from the stator to the R/R. That's the 3 yellow wires you see coming from my R/R. Bat lead will go to my resetable breaker then to the bat. Negative will go straight to battery.

Nessism wrote: Sounds like a wiring issue. The stator should feed directly into the R/R. Bypass the factory harness. Output power from the R/R can feed into the fuse block, again bypassing the harness or tap the harness and look for voltage loss in the circuit. R/R ground should be to a solid frame point or direct to the battery. Don't trust the factory wiring, particularly with regards to grounds.
Well, I found what I think is the culprit...at least one of them.
The cheap (unused) stator I bought off ebay a couple weeks ago was just that. One leg would not register when I checked it on the bike earlier today. When I pulled it out and looked closely at it, I then realized why Genuine Kawasaki (stators anyway) is the best way to go.
On close examination, I'm reminded with 100% certainty why not to buy Chinese made parts for my bike. The junk stator looked pretty good when I installed it. Skimping on wire gauge thickness is a lousy place to cut manufacturing costs.
The old OEM Kaw stator I removed passed the ohm test, and I have a FA020AA Shindengen Mosfet regulator on the way.
So, here I go again...

Then, of course, it took a few days to get to, then recheck, then some little road tests here & there, but anyway, the bike is fixed.
I've gone out on a couple 100-200 mile day trips & it's back to a daily rider again now for 2 weeks.
Nessism, the SH-775 is working just great. I bought the Triumph lead kit & just spliced into the factory harness with bullet connectors.
The only modification needed was slightly longer mounting bolts.
Thanks again everyone. All help is much appreciated
