I just put my 85 1100 back together, the engine is a fbg 1260,i put a set of 36mm mikunis on it,i'm not sure if i really have a problem or not but i never saw or heard this before, when the bike is idling im hearin a poppin,or clickin or something goofy goin on with the carbs, kinda sounds like the bike is trying to backfire thru the carbs, the bike rolls thru the rpm's fine no stumbling around like there is a problem i've just never heard carbs sound that way,the carbs are mikunis rs series carbs ,any info would be greatly appreciated.

a lot of the high-po bike motors that I have herd have that highpitch chirping sound at idle,I think it may be the way the cams are set up.

also I have herd that the RS carbs are prone to breaking the plastic slides,if they do, Mikuni will take em back and replace the slides for around 50.00 .

The slides on those Mikuni RS flatslides rattle a little. That's probably what you're hearing.
