I figure if I am going to build this thing right ( the 82 1000J that I am building an ELR clone out of, with the wiseco 1075 OVER bore kit ) I should upgrade the carbs. My question is, and I'm sure there will be varied expirences here, but given the choices between Mikuni RS, Mikuni smoothbores, and Keihin flat CR, what would you pick, and why?

One of my suppliers has a Motorcycle catalogue, so it was a lot like the christmas wish book when it arrived in the mail.

Thanks!

I also am building an ELR clone. I have the same setup with my engine as yours. If you go with the CR's let me know what your settings are. I have a rack of CR's ready to install when I get to that and am courious to the base settings. Thanks and good luck

Will Do, I bought out the remaining inventory of an older Kawasaki dealer and have some original ELR peices, my friend is the local Dupont rep, I can have the colours scanned and get you paint codes for the green/blue/white if it will help you any.

Baldy. For 34mm CR specials(not flatslides) Sudco tech guys say; start with #125 Main Jet,#70 Pilot Jet,#220 Main Air Jet, a 3.2 Float needle and seat assembly, a 11Y9 jet needle, and a 3.0 Throttle valve. This is taking into account you have a 4 into one 1 header and an 1100 motor. Hope this gets you started.
