Ok, I havent a clue where the previous owner got these carbs, but I pulled them off a 76 KZ900. It doesn't look like the bore line up exactly with the ports. (the center ones are slightly off, stressing the holders) Ideally I want to be able to jet this thing if necessary. It runs pretty good but needs cleaning and tlc. I measured the bore... 34mm

Might be Mikuni TM Flatslide carbs which are a later design with reportedly improved airflow over the earlier VM round slides. This from reading and viewing pictures in the Sudco manual which seem very similar but not exactly like your photo. For instance, the Sudco manual pictures show the air jet area at the bottom of the intake bore whereas I believe yours show it at the top. Would think the mis-alignment suggests your particular carb bank is pretty close but was built for something besides a KZ900. Calling WG ... Calling WG. And hasten also with a ready bow and deferal to WM:P

Those things could be off many different mid-size modern sport bikes... the flat slides and the tilted bowls means the front cylinders lie down a lot father than any KZ. Since the floats are at the wrong angle, I doubt they will work right on a KZ. I can't say they are from a 600cc Kaw crotch rocket since the spacing is undetermined but that would be my guess.

Looks suspiciously like a set of carbs I yanked off a Yamaha 600 Seca awhile back....

Thank you folks!

WG, I appreciate the insight into the float bowl alignment. I was suspicious as the main reason I yanked these carbs is rough idle. I figured I had a float problem and considering the fact that leaving it sit withthe petcock open resulted in a puddle of fuel through the pods. Luckily I scavenged through the prev. owners scrap pile and found a set of Z1 28mm carbs. Thanks to Z1 enterprises carb I.D. page I pegged them as the later model.

4 rebuild kits, new pods and a few minutes surfing for settings, I'm sure they'll be operational for next season.

*sigh*

ah well, its rained here since August......

Those appear to be 86-88 GSXR carbs.
