On the fuel petcock on my 900, the fuel on/off/reserve handle broke off the valve, are the petcock handles solid aluminum or hollow? I want to drill a hole in the side and put in a bolt or something so i can turn it without pliers until I get a new one this winter when I give the bike a facelift.

I sure don't know who could answer this... I know I can't. The handle appears to be a die cast aluminum part, so it SHOULD be solid. But without an xray machine....

NO, it is NOT solid. I took mine apart Saturday and there are two channels in the rotating part of the petcock. I thought I had pictures, but I just have pictures of the whole petcock itself. I don't remember just where the channels are, but I do know it's not save to drill anywhere in the valve.
