What size carbs are you guye running on 1100 motors?Im haveing trouble tunning out a flat spot on my vm33's,and was wondering if I would be happyer with the throttle responce of RS carbs. Your thoughts please. Not sure what size either, hearing vm29'work good and rs34's, Sudco lists rs36,38's fot kz1100's???

The flatslides are better carbs than the 33's you have. The flatslides make for better throttle response because they don't have the problem of engine vacuum wanting to hang open the round slides of your 33'sand the shorter length of venturi. The 33's are good carbs though. On a 1135cc motor, 34's would probably be better for the street. The 36's MIGHT give your motor better top end breathing, but won't be as good for throttle response. It's better to be on the small size for throttle response for the street. I know a guy running 36mm carbs on his 1105cc motor but he has .410 or bigger cams and is using it for dragracing, which is another situation. You don't list any bigger cams in your motor spec.s so going with what you have listed, I'd stay with 34's. I was told to use 38's for 1327-1428cc motors so those would be way to big for your set-up. If you are running .410 cams or larger the 36's would be a good set-up but just remember that you will lose some bottom end grunt in exchange for top end power. It's hard to have both. Rule of thumb would be that smaller carbs are good for bottom end grung and bigger carbs are better for topend power...within reason.

i'm running rs34 on a 810 engine and i'm pretty happy with setup after jetting on the dyno. The main reason for choosing the 34's ( after I was recomended to use the 36's ) is that they fitted staight on to the manafolds and filter box

Local race shop told me 36mm RS's for dragracing a 1075cc. So maybe 34 for street. What did ELR have, 33's?

I have cams but they came with it so I don't know the size, but they put under bucket shims and heavy springs in it, so the cams must have good lift. This is just for rippin on the streets.I definitly want low torque.

whats your budget? sounds like 33 or 35 FCRs would be perfect.......33s are easier to get
