I was riding my cop bike in from work today and it started pissing gas out of the vac. fuel valve.

I have replaced the fuel valve on my CSR with a pingle one but I used a drill bit to hog out the hole for the 3/8's adaptor and it leaks,my question is do you fellows use a die grinder with a carbide cuter to hog out the hole or a step drill??

I replaced my fuel valve with one from Z1. I used a small round file. It only requires a very small amount of removal. Does not leak.

Craig, I used a tool that has a tee hand and is tapered with some steel blades and is used for hogging out holes. I can't imagine why your adapter plate leaked if you used the goop they give you and the gasket. I suspect that once you put that plate on with that stuff, it is very permanent. I have had a few drops where I put teflon tape on and redid the tape not too long ago. If you don't hot rod your cop bike, you might want to look at the Custom Chrome petcocks Jeff sells. they are about $20 and flow fine for a stocker motor. The nice thing is that every part... the screens, gas pickup tubes, orings, etc is replaceable/rebuildable. I don't know if Jeff carries the individual parts but JP Cycles does.

Jeff is out of stock on the vac. operated valves,so I will go with a man. one

George;
I think one of the problems I have is that I wasn't using the pingle brand adaptor and the one I had didn't have any sealing comound

I suspect JB Weld would doer! I use that stuff by the bucket! Never had a hint of a leak on the Pingel adapter plates I have used with the goop they give you which I suspect is fast cure epoxy.

I am happy to report that I changed the copbike's gas valve and used the leftover Hylomar on the csr and I must have got lucky on both as I have NO leaks :woohoo: :lol: :) B)

ps; I found what was making the vac valve leak,it was the diaphram,I now have a rebuildable core.
