I use GUNK cleaner in a yellow spray can. It seems to work well for me, but then my carbs are pretty clean.
I hear Berrymans is good for really grotty carbs but I also hear it can be nasty stuff.

I used three tall spray cans to clean my carbs.
PJ1 carb cleaner from the bike shop $7.00
K&W carb cleaner from Pepboys $4.00
Gumout carb cleaner from Dollar General $2.00
They all seem to work very well.
They even stank the same.
Guess which one I'll be using in the future.;)

I use Berryman (Barryman?) Carb Cleaner in the 5 gallon can. Break the carbs off the rail and soak each of them for a day or so. Got them really clean.

Did you just dunk the whole carb or did you take it apart first?
