Would it hurt to run sea foam and some carb cleaner? I am a fan of the sea foam...I use it in my Jeep Cherokee, but through the throttle body not in the gas.

Probably won't hurt it a bit. The seafoam can has directions for mixing with fuel. like 1 oz to 1 gallon gas.

I would change the oil as the first thing. See z1Enterprises for the filter, you can have it in a few days.

i would pull the carbs, flip them over, drop the bowls in carb cleaner, unscrew the jets, take the top off of each carb, clean the diaphrams & needle, soak caps in cleaner, toss screws in cleaner, soak all brass jets for 15 minutes scrub & repeat with soft tack cloth or something unabrasive, blow all the ports holes and whatever else you can think of with compressed air (in a can if you dont have a compressor) and wipe everything down making sure all the jets are see through in the little holes.

let parts dry, lubricate anything you think needs it and reassemble.

Doing ONE carb at a time is a benefit for someone that has never done it, this way you can look at the other one for a road map on where things go during reassembly.

Have fun and do this on Butcher paper and wear latex gloves.

I was able to pick up the oil filter for my KZ440 from a local Napa, just for convenience sake.
