Kawasaki BS34's

Some stuff for a Friend on those BS34's. Bowl choke fuel jet cleaning and checking. You want a clear hole, #68 drill bit works fine. I clamp one to a set of hemostats because they don't normally come in jobber lengths. Then using a 1/8" pipe, make a rope of 000 or similar and fill the pipe up. This is to be used as a cleaning tool. Once clear, shoot some carb cleaner down the hole. Might be surprised how much stuff will come out ha. Just because you see light, might not be truly "round". Use a magnifying glass while shining light thru the other side. The pilot passage plug came in two different versions, slug with oring or just rubber. Note on these BS carbs, they used an external brass pipe that routed fuel from P/U tube to choke plunger opening! This routing labyrinth can EASILY get clogged. That's why i use that 1000PSI power washer to completely purge crap.         

That bowl choke pick-up brass tube only has one thru hole and it is right where the gasket would lay. If gasket material compresses or hole cut too small to begin with it would definitely stifle any air picked-up from the other side via channel formed in bowl. But also note all the plumbing, external and internal that gets petrol from point A to point B. Old fuel/media can goo up or lodge where the external pipe re-enters lower section and galley is milled and plugged.      

How easy would that be to overlook !!!!
