KZ305 Air box Boot Issue - 14073-1051 WORKAROUND

My 81' KZ305 uses those stupid air box intake boots, part number 14073-1051. They are impossible to find anywhere, no NOS, no remans, nothing. For the past month and a half I've struggled to think of a workaround until I went to home depot and found these 1 1/2" rubber hoses. They fit the diameter of the air box holes perfectly as well as connect to the carb side perfectly. It creates a very nice seal on the air box side, I'd even go as to say better than the stock boots. Be aware that the boots need to be trimmed down a smidge to actually fit and have the same length as the stock boots.

The Home Depot part number is P1056-150. If you do not have access to a home depot, the actual company for the hose is called Fernco part P1056-150.

I hope to god people who are in the same boat see this.

Glad you found that, but people have been using pieces of radiator hose for years

It's available in different sizes to fit a lot of different situations and is well-suited to high temps (even though a carb boot doesn't see all that much heat). They also might be cheaper than Ferncos
