The space between each clip groove on a Mikuni needle is .021" (0.53 mm) if you can find a shim washer half that thickness those will be ideal for your purpose. ID needs to be .100" (2.5 mm) and OD .240" (6.1 mm) based on needle and clip OD'S.

Damn!! I just bought 30$ of 0.5mm washer on amazon!!! I read on another post that was 1mm between each clip!! So 0.5mm is gonna be perfect to have little adjustments on these needle, I guess ?!
thanks man

I don't know who your getting your info from but I just double checked my info and I got .021" between the clips (0.53 mm) on Mikuni round slide needle.

A 0.50 mm washer would be useless as that is a one full clip up adjustment. According to my "measurement" a 0.30 mm washer would be OK to put you at 1/2 a clip up.

I think if you can get some 0.10 x 2.5 x 6 mm ( TxIDxOD) metal washers you could adjust as much as you want. Ebay will probably be the cheaper option.

Your post got me thinking I should check to see if I had shims in my jet box. I only had 4 that were .018" thick I took off of some CVK carbs (no adjustment grooves)

I went on Ebay and found some SS washers 0.10mm thick x 3mm ID x 6mm OD so I ordered 50 pcs for $3.86 Canadian. On the slow boat so won't see them till January.

Thank you I will check it now on ebay!! So the mikuni ratio of 3 to 6% at low throttle is good for 0.5mm clip?! Does mikuni have 1mm needle clip?!
I appreciate

Is it dangerous to put 2-3 washers underneath the clip?!

The Mikuni needle show in my pic is out of a VM26 carb. The clip/grooves are .016" thick and the space between them is .021" so nothing on those needles is anywhere close to 1 mm.

If you move up or down to the next groove its a 0.53 mm jump. If you stack some of those thin washers under the clip you can achieve about a 1/4 or 1/2 of a clip adjustment.

No, the needles are stationary and the actuator swivel for the slides cover the clip so it does not move. 3 x 0.1 mm washers = .012" so that should not be a issue. Any more than that and you should move the clip up/down.

Why more than 3 0.1mm washer I should move the clip?! 4 washers is it possible? And why have you buy 0.3mm if you can add 3 of those 0.1 mm ?
