Kz650 Pilot screw or full carb clean?
10 Oct 2025 11:16
Recently purchased a 1978 kz650, Previous owner said he already rebuilt the carbs. He said I should check the Fuel pilot screws. It only bogs a little between 2.5k-3krpm. Decelerated pretty slow. The bike starts up without no issue first try!

That's the revs that the needle jet starts to become active along with the pilot jetting already running. If you are running with individual pod air filters the transition causes a "stumble" at that point.
Adding air corrector jets will resolve the stumble. Member zed1015 can supply them.
Note air correctors for vm 22 & vm24 are different so you need to advise which carbs you have.
