750 b3 stripped screw
31 Aug 2025 18:06
The previous owner admitted he worked a lot on the carbs. He shouldn't have, they were a mess. They are mostly sorted out now but one of them has a float bowl screw stripped. Not sure of the best way to fix it. I'm sure smarter people than myself have run across this and can give me some advice on how to fix it.

When I first read this post I was not sure what you mean by stripped screw. If the issue is the head of the screw, then what Nessism suggested is a good and proper way to fix it. If on the other hand the issue is the threads in the carb body that the screw tightens into then there are a couple of solutions I have seen done. Some sort of thread insert used. Drill and re-thread for a slightly larger dia screw. I have also seen the use of a smaller dia screw which will pass through the hole and a nut on the end of it.

My mistake not being clear, it has stripped threads, I'll try to tap for a larger screw

Using a nut works.
